Fighters On 'The Ultimate Fighter' Season 10

Kimbo Slice And Roy Nelson Head The List

In 'The Ultimate Fighter 10: The Heavyweights', coaches Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson and 'Sugar' Rashad Evans will have a lot of talent to work with.

'The Ultimate Fighter' season 10 looks like it could be one of the most exciting seasons yet. Not only are there two coaches that detest each other, but the fighters on the show have a ton of potential.

Kimbo Slice In The House

Kevin 'Kimbo Slice' Ferguson is the most well known fighter in the house. He rose to fame through You Tube street fights, andis looking to make his name in MMA. He boasts a 3-1 record, and is known for his punching power. His win over James Thompson showed he has a ton of heart, and despite his deficiencies on the ground, some believe he has enough heart and determination to win the whole season.

Unfortunately for Kimbo though, when one looks at the quality of the other fighters on the show, the fact that he has so little experience on the ground could be a determining factor in his fate on the upcoming season.

Veterans Try To Take Their Last Chance

For Roy Nelson, this is a real do or die situation. He is a former IFL Heavyweight Champion, but if he wants to make it at the very highest level, he needs to do it now. Despite looking flabby and out of shape, Nelson is deceptively good, and his ground control could be a key factor this season. He is one of the favourites to win the whole thing.

A wildcard is Wes Sims. Best known for getting himself disqualified in a fight against Frank Mir, he is very unpredictable, and he has a wild personality which will surely grate on the other fighters in the house. He is very capable of winning the season, but already has 12 blemishes on his record, showing that he can have his off nights.

Many are suggesting that 10-0 Darrill Schoonover is the pick of the bunch, and this may not be a bad call. He is very well rounded, and may just have enough everywhere to take the season.

Wrestlers Take Centre Stage

John Madsen is one of the outstanding wrestlers on this season. He boasts a win over Brock Lesnar in amateur wrestling, and is 2-0 in MMA. Madsen trains with Matt Hughes and the HIT Squad, and has the wrestling base required to do very well.

Justin Wren is another fabulous wrestler. He is 6-1 in MMA, and is a two time All-American in Greco-Roman wrestling. He is another one with a very good chance.

Zak Jensen also possesses a wrestling background, but is 7-3 in MMA. He has been defeated by opposition a lot worse than exhibited on this season, and unfortunately will probably fall by the wayside early on.

American Football Players Aim To Make Transition To MMA

There are several former NFL players on this season of TUF. One is Wes Shivers. An imposing looking fellow, Shivers has all the physical tools required, but his inexperience may show, and the fact he's 0-1 as a professional highlights this.

Matt Mitrione, a former defensive tackle has no professional fights under his belt, and will probably struggle against the seasoned veterans such as Nelson.

Abe Wagner, who is 6-2 in MMA may have more look though. He's been a professional since 2006, and has shown he can go five rounds. He may fare the best out of all the footballers.

Demico Rogers was a much lauded high school footballer, but thankfully, he also has some wrestling and grappling experience. If he can improve his striking, he could have an outside chance.

Marcus Jones, who is 4-1 in MMA has never been outside of the first round. He is a known striker, but is believed to have a decent ground game, and seeing his progress over the season will be interesting.

In fact, it will be interesting to see how all of the aforementioned footballers adapt to the grueling world of MMA. If any of them have the technical ability to win the show though remains to be seen.

Best Of The Rest

Scott Junk has fought in the UFC before, and is experienced. He's powerful, and may be able to knock enough people out to earn himself a place in the final.

James McSweeney is probably the weak link on the show. He's a former international kickboxing champion, but as his 3-3 record suggests, he lacks ability on the ground.

Brendan Schaub, a 4-0 prospect who trains with Greg Jackson is a good all rounder. He's a former 'Golden Gloves' champion, and well versed in BJJ, so many are predicting he will do very well.

16 Of The Best On TUF 10

UFC President Dana White has done very well to create such a talented cast for this show. While there are a couple of fighters which may not have the goods, there are a lot of potentially even fights in this show. Look for John Madsen to burst onto the scene. He may surprise everyone with quite how impressive his wrestling is.
